From Becky Greenwood’s Mother

I became interesed in Hyperbaric Oyxgen Therapy some 13 years ago following an article in a national newspaper. A charity had been formed in the south of England to provide oxygen therapy to children with learning difficulties and had had good results. I researched the treatment and thought it might be just what my daughter needed.

Becky, then 7, had been diagnoses Dyspraxic with severe oral and verbal dyspraxia and learning difficulties. At 7 she had been walking for only 3 years and was still not talking other than odd single words. She was extremely frustrated causing temper tantrums and self abuse. I by chance met a local lady who was a naturopath, who had started a free children’s clinic and was at the time trying to help a local boy who had been badly brain damaged in an operation. We were introduced and she too had seen the article and was researching it to see if it could help this boy. The rest is history.

We decided to try and raise enough money to get our own chamber and offer this therapy to anyone who needed it, and so A Breath for Life was born. My daughter and the boy were the first children to be treated in the chamber. Speaking from my own perspective as a parent, I honestly believe that HBOT was the stimulus for my daughter to start speaking. Within weeks she was putting words together and within months was making sentences. She grew in confidence over the next 2-3 years having regular treatments. She became more physically coordinated and was so much healthier then she had been. As a baby Becky seemed to always be on antibiotics, but since having HBOT, she very rarely even gets a cold. I believe that HBOT is a natural treatment that helps the body help itself heal.
